We went out this afternoon for some errands. We also accompanied our aunt to the bank. After her transaction at the bank, she invited us to eat out since it's my cousin's birthday.

We went to Lachi's to eat lunch at 3pm. My aunt ordered one of Lachi's famous recipe, the 'Unforgettable Ribs'. I had the Lechon Kawali meal. My cousin ate spaghetti and a slice of chocolate cake. I also ordered my favorite Sans Rival for dessert.

I've noticed that everytime we eat at Lachi's, the place is always full. Some people even just do not enter anymore when they see that there are no tables available. A lot of people love Lachi's food but their place can't accomodate many customers as their place is quite small. I think it's best for them to expand. Having a bigger space would benefit both their restaurant and Lachi's loyal customers. I hope they would also think of branching out at Matina area. If this happens, I can easily get to visit them and eat my all-time favorite Sans Rival as often as I want. ;)

Carbonara Recipe

<table style="width: 486px; I went to the doctor this morning for a check-up. After visiting my doctor, my aunt and I had an early lunch at Dencia's. I often eat rice porridge (lugaw) when I'm sick. And the best lugaw for me is served at Dencia's.

It was around 10:30am when we arrived at the restaurant. We ordered Lugaw-Goto and Tokwa't Baboy. It was delicious, as always. An order of Lugaw is Php 45.00 and Tokwa't Baboy cost Php 47.50. A little expensive for plain lugaw but it's worth though because the taste was satisfying.

The restaurant is clean and service is friendly and fast. The only problem I always have when going the Dencia's is the parking. They have limited parking space. If I can't find a parking space nearby, I would normally park at Gaisano's basement parking space, fronting Dencia's building.

Gerry's Grill

I am a Sans Rival fanatic. A friend told me that the Sans Rival at Gerry's Grill is delicious. So last Saturday, my friend and I ate our dinner at Gerry's Grill so I could try their Sans Rival.

My friend ordered Kare-Kareng Baka because it looked delicious in the menu. I ordered for Grilled Pusit as I read that this recipe made them famous. We ordered Tokwa't Lengua as appetizer and Sans Rival for dessert.

The appetizer was served late as they got the wrong order. They served us Plain Tokwa instead of Tokwa't Lengua.

I liked the Kare-Kareng Baka. It's better than the one I ate at another restaurant. I loved the Grilled Pusit. I totally agree that this made them famous. I did not taste the Tokwa't Lengua, but my friend said that it was ok. But it can't compete though with Dencia's Tokwa't Baboy.

I was so excited to taste the Sans Rival as this was why we were at Gerry's Grill in the first place. But the excitement faded when I took my first bite. I was disappointed because it did not meet what I was expecting. I still love, by far, the Lachi's Sans Rival.

Though I did not really liked the dessert, I still would go back and eat at Gerry's Grill. I like to try their Tuna Belly. I think I would like it as much as the Grilled Pusit.

Aside from their delicious food, the restaurant was clean and the rest room is clean as well. Price is a bit high but not that expensive. I'd sure go back and visit Gerry's Grill.

Karlyn's (Ma-a)

I usually eat lunch at home. But today I didn't eat my lunch at home since I had a meeting in the morning and had errands to do after the meeting. It was more convenient to eat out that go home for lunch. Since it's payday today, I treated my aunt to eat out. We had lunch at Karlyn's at Ma-a. Karlyn's have 2 branches. Ma-a is the main branch and the other one is located at Matina.

The place can be reached by public transporation. It is an advantage if you have your own car 'coz it's quite far from the main highway. It is generally clean. I was not able to check the restroom though. I always check the restrooms of the restaurants I visit. The cleanliness of the restroom can tell you generally how clean their kitchen is. If they can manage to maintain the cleanliness of the restroom, what more in the kitchen.

The food is ok. We ordered 3 viands: kare-kare, lengua, and steak ala pobre. They serve the food fast, as these are already cooked before hand and displayed in the counter. Even the steak are prepared already. They just have to warm it-up a bit before serving it. So, if you want to eat steak and would not want to wait for long, this is the place for you. We sat around 11:45am. The steak ala pobre was served after 5 minutes. There was a soup served (the free soup) as well. Less than 5 minutes after, the other two viands were served. Served also was the 2-small-piece- sweetened bananas (also free) as dessert.

Prices? Affordable. One serving of kare-kare is only Php 70.00. The lengua was Php 40.00 and the steak was Php 110.00. Rice was Php 12.00 per serving. The Coke Litro we ordered for drinks was Php 38.00. A total of Php 282.00 for our lunch.

Taste? The steak was ok. I liked the lengua. I don't like the kare-kare.

Over-all: pretty-much ok. ;)
